Engine light, 7500 miles, service, warranty ??
I found the FAQ on the light:
Resetting Maintenace Light
At approximately 7000 Miles the maintenance light will appear on your dash. It is very easy to shut the light off or cancel it.
Put key in ignition
Push trip reset button, continue to hold button for 10 seconds
Turn key to next position
Hold button until light stays off.
My question is what does the 7500 mile service include, is it necessary, and what if I reset the light myself, does that void warranty at all?
Thanks for the help.
Sean

For what it includes, check your owners manual!!
No it does not void warranty if you reset it yourself, jusk document that service was done, even if you do it yourself.

Just got off the phone with the dealers regarding my upcoming 7,500 miles service.
For $130 + tax ......
: Oil and filter change (regular oil)
: Tire rotation
: Inspect and adjust brakes
: Inspect all hoses
: top off fluids
And I asked them if they could check the torque on the plugs, which was free if loose, if not, it'll be $25.
Anyone up for it?

I have almost 6000 miles on my S2k and the light came on this morning. It only stayed on for a couple of sec. after I started it.
The Honda service tech. stated that it comes on for about four sec every time you start your car at about 6000 miles, then as your reach 7500 miles it stays on all the time. It is just a reminder that you need to service your car soon.
$130 seem high in my book, plus if the dealer said rotate the tires you better take it to another dealer.

i say let them charge you for the tire rotation, then tell them you want the tires back the way they were, and you want to watch...
when that little exercise in laughter is over, ask for the owner of the dealership, i'm sure by the time you are finished the service will be comp'd
the only charge they should have for a 7500 service is oil change. so $130 is out of the question. if you don't feel like having fun, find a different dealer.
joey o, is correct about the light.

I have decided to change to synthetic oil and a new filter (~$35), reset the light (~15 seconds) and get myself a sub (~$5).
The $90 I just saved can go towards 2/3 of replacing a tire.
