The s2k started (as in back in MY00) being assembled in the same plant as the NSX right? That went untill...MY04/05? Now that the plant is not in use? (I think?) Where is the 'new' s2k's built?
Not that I have hard facts, but I do remember (for whatever that is worth) reading that a 'majority' of the motor is hand built by a team. I however remember being under the impression part of the reason it worked that way is because of the building plant being used. Has there been any fundimental changes in the proccess of assembly on newer MY s2k's? Just curious, actually, I have been since I read about the NSX plant coming down.

The AMG engine from Mercedes-Benz are hand assemble and hand crafted by the engine builder. Honda techs does not sign the engine they build but the engine is hand built, thats for sure.

I was part of the group that toured the Tochigi plant a few years ago. The engines arrived there fully assembled. Unfortunately, we did not receive any details on how they are put together.
I think I have the S2000 book by Carney at home, I'll try to remember to check it out this evening.
