Very cool!!! I had thought about doing that, but decided against it. I do want the STB though. Do you notice any rubbing on the AEM tube? It looks like they touch.

Rick,
Looks like a nice neat job.
One thing you may want to keep an eye on is that Stainless Braid hoses tend to abrade any surface they come in contact with. Guys who put them on their motorcycle brake lines found that they abraded the fork legs if they were not very carefull routing them. I would watch to see where the braid comes in contact with painted surfaces. You could possibly cut a small section of ruber hose and use it to wrap around the contact points so you don't abrade the painted surface.
Or instead of rubber maybe leather?

Hey Rick,
Thanks for the websites. I was really looking for the sizes (diameters) and lengths to purchase.
Example:
Hose
1/2 inch 4 feet
3/8 inch 16 feet
....
Connectors
1/2 inch 6 connectors
3/8 inch 20 connectors
.....
....
....
Would it be possible for you to give us the "recipe".
Todd

Todd and Rick,
Beware, I placed two orders for hose ends in January and had all new hoses custom braided by R and R Speciality. I am still waiting for my orders. They are not answering my emails or phones messages. I was able to speak with a gentlemen once, who promised to send my hoses the beginning of March and I still have not received them. I am very unhappy and if I do not receive a response by next week I plan to put my car back together and report the company to the Better Business Bureau. Just thought I would give everyone a heads up. I will keep you posted.
Mike

Sorry to hear that, Mike. This seems more and more to be a common business practice -- incomptence and fraud, that is.
tmsO2,
Diameters and lengths are always an issue. I recorded them somewhere, but I'm not sure I saved the paperwork. I'll look for it and post the info if I find it. Some of the stock hose diameters available from these sites don't fit quite right (Honda does many things differently), but there's enough give in the hose for it to fit ok. The braided hose (the good stuff, which has a braid on the outside as well as one in the rubber itself) is somtimes tough to slip over the fittings, since it has less give. In those cases, I ended up lubricating both the fitting and the hose end itself to make it easier.
Much of the stock molded hose has such sharp bends that it cannot be replaced with stock straight braided hose. In these instances, you have to buy the braided sleeves and slip them over the stock molded hose. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to do.

tms (and all others who are interested),
Before I ordered hose last year, I went through and measured all of the tubes/hoses that looked like they could be replaced. Here are the measurements I came up with:
Size(i.d. mm) Length(inches)
4.0 111
6.0 20
7.5 66
9.0 9
10.0 26
13.0 12
14.0 12
17.0 54
19.0 24
21.0 24
Now, these totals are within +/- 1". I ordered for two cars at a time, and threw in an extra 2 feet on each hose size for leeway. Also, if you plan on using rubber hose to cover any solid lines, such as the AC lines, you'll need to measure those and order extra.
Enjoy!

Hey rick, looks nice I had the stainless steel braided lines on my old car also. Make sure you DO NOT put any hard degreaser or cleaner on those hoses, will leave a white residue. Also these covers will get greasy very easy and hard to clean. But looks good.
