Default End of S2000 production?

I am hoping to eventually purchase an S2000. Now that the 4th year of production is coming up, how long is Honda going to keep making them? It is not that I want production to end. I just want to know when I need to place my order before Honda decides to stop producing them (certainly a crazy idea). I'm hoping it is a 10 year production run, but I'm trying to be realistic.
Thanks,

The S2000 is only scheduled to be produced for 5 years. That's sad, but it makes the car that much better!

I don't believe Honda has said anything like that.
So just where did you hear this rumor?

Honda will produce it as long as people keep buying it. If it didn't sell they would probably cut their losses or re-do the car somehow. Though right now..............no real end in site!

Sales are still kicking!

I have also heard that there was just going to be a 5 year production run. I can not remember where I heard that though. Does anyone else have any news about the S2000 production run??

There will be a limited production run... All sports cars have one. It allows the buyers to keep the rarity of the breed. Think about it... Would you like it if there were a million S2000's on the road...like civics? they would hold no value, and the awe effect would be gone right?

We all heard that back in 2000 too. Yeah, it was supposed to be Honda's 50th Anniversary car with a 1 year production run. Sure...

So far, it should have been discontinued every year since it came out. It's quite amusing how Honda's salespeople use that reason to get you into one.

Of all that I've read about the S, I have never seen anything concerning a stop date for production. I wouldn't believe it. The only car I've read that next year is the last year is the MR2 Spyder (that's really a shame). The Honda sales people are always handing us false info on the car. MY01 S's was supposed to be the only year Spa yellow was offered.
