D'oh!

That's what they make torque wrenches for.

hrmmm, yea they stopped using the torque sticks a few years ago, back to torque wrenches. this can also happen if they torqued them / bolted them down incorrectly. for example in a five lug bolt pattern, you need to bolt them down in a star pattern, this makes sure that the wheel is FLUSH before torquing them down. this is probably how it happened.

luder - what is discount tire going to do? and are they still going to make you purchase that ring from the wheel that THEY screwed up?

Looks like every bolt is going in a different direction
Makes me wonder is my "feel" for putting my tires on today was good enough

Sorry to say, I'd rather it have been my S2K. The quality of the body work on the Prelude is very hard to recreate. At least with the S2K, the paint is stock, 2000 and 2001 S2K body panels will match up better than 1994 Honda Prelude body panels.

As much as I love my S2K, I love the Lude that much more. It symbolizes to me all the hard work and savings I've put in through high school and college to buy my first new car and still being able to customize it...trust me it started out as a dream that came to reality for me.

I baby my S2K while still opening it up every so often, but I REALLY baby my Lude.

The stud only snapped off after the "accident". We tried to get the steel rim on but since all 4 studs were going all different directions, we needed to try to straigten at least two. The first one we tried to straigten snapped off, which is the one you see missing.
