Thanks guys in sharing your experiences - good to know I'm not the only doofus.

Siper2 - no I didn't yell at him but I did make it clear that I thought there was definitely a repair needed. I actually think he feels good about it as it kind of put him in a superior position. I think I will get good service in future.

It started raining yesterday in Sydney and the same thing happened. But, due to previous experience I knew what it was straight away (well almost, at least well before calling the dealer).

I have a guy come to my house every fortnight and clean my car. With out fail the child safety lock is on when next I drive it.

What is a fortnight? And is every fortnight a little excessive? Is it a metric measurement of time? Hmmmmmmm...

We aussies keep forgetting that you guys don;t speak the queens english. I had the same problem when I first went to live in Canada and confused everybody.

A fortnight is 2 weeks. It is a contraction of the words FOuRTeen NIGHTS.

If you'd like a couple more confusing terms how many of you can tell me how much a Stone weighs or how long a Chain is.

P.S. None of you limeys are allowed to respond to this!

...how much a Stone weighs or how long a Chain is...[/B]
A stone = 14 pounds
A chain = 66 feet (had to look it up)

What about a bushel? My leaf vac/blower bag holds 10 bushels
