Electric power steering with engine not running
In some post on this forum a while back, someone mentioned that the electric power steering should work even when the motor is not running. I can assure you that in my 2002, with the ignition on and the engine not running, there is no power steering effect. Could it be that the 2003 models can give you power assist when the engine is not running? Somehow, I am assuming that my S2000 is not defective, and that the poster was merely in error.

Start the engine in your S2000 then kill it by letting the clutch out with the brake on. The power steering will still work and your engine is not running. At least that's the way it works in my 2000 model. I don't get the power steering until after the engine has started once, though.
