there's an article on suspension on one of the recent magazines (Import tuner/SCC or something like that). basically when you lower your car, your shocks/dampers were not made for the changes, and it may end up having less compression travel (downwards) and more rebound (upwards) travel, creating a less than perfect setup. for people on a certain budget, a good set of springs is usually the way to go. for those with a larger budget, a true set of coilover system with matching dampers designed side by side with the springs are more desirable.

one of the benefits and selling points of kg/mm's springs is based on its dual rate setup. go to http://www.kgm.co.jp and see a demonstration on how it works.

it's probably one of the more expensive springs on the market, but it's definitely one of the nicest setups short of getting a full/complete coilover system with dampers specifically made for the spring rate, rebound and travel, etc. such as the Zeal B series dampers or the Bilstein PSS coilover system. Neuspeed springs, H&R springs are also pretty good.
