I am thinking about buying an S2000. Could anybody tell me what the average MPG is. Any other info regarding servicing costs/insurance etc would also be useful. Cheers mateys.

Mark.

Average mpg runs about, at least for me, 25 to 29 mpg depending upon how I am driving. Obviously a road trip will give you better mileage than a run through the twisties in 4th gear at 7K RPM.

I drive conservatively, most of the time, but appreciate performance. I never daudle coming off a stop light or stop sign. I usually shift around 4K and cruise at 2.5K RPM, but enjoy VTEC when traffic allows. All that said, I just figured my MPG for the first 5,000 miles on my MY 02--29.1 mpg. Worst was 27.0, best was 30.4. It's my daily driver, about 15 miles one way at mostly 45 mph (30-60) with a few traffic lights and a couple stop signs. I've never made a mileage check after purely highway driving, but I don't doubt claims of over 33 mpg. It can definitely be an economy car

With 5,500 miles in 10 weeks, I have gotten between 24 and 28, mostly outside of the city and with the top up only when raining. Its my only car and words can't describe how wonderful this machine is.

I typically get 25-28 mpg. That hasn't really varied since the first day.

I don't think I have ever had a tank go under 30 MPG.

Drive only in the city or only for fun and you will get terrible MPG. At the Homestead track day I got a whopping 6 MPG.

Catsarse, (great name) if you're concerned with fuel economy as a factor in your decision-making process, be sure to do some searches on tire life. You might be shocked.

As for insurance, I pay about 5 bucks a month more than I did on my Prelude.
