Default eBay fraud

Not sure which forum this would best fit so I figured I'd post it here so everyone could read it. Also, I'm not sure if it's a repost or not but I figured it's good info either way. Here is a link to an nsx-prime thread about some jackass ripping people off on ebay by posting scam auctions selling other peoples cars. Good read. -- http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread....&threadid=20328 .

That was an amazing read. I am thinking about cancelling my ebay account. I've already decided to not use ebay for anything but minor dollar amounts.

Yeah I personally have never bought anything over $100 on ebay but I do use it quite frequently and have not been screwed YET. I do however think that as with anything else, common sense needs to be a big factor in purchasing decisions especially when it comes to something like ebay. I know that I would never wire someone money for a vehicle that I have never seen/inspected personally. For something that big I would think that the buyer would want to fly to where the car is and check it out and handle everything face to face. It still sucks that there are people out there that live on ripping off others but as someone in that thread stated, law enforcement and people that are too trusting make it almost stupid for these guys not to try and rip people off.

It's scary that this kind of stuff goes on, relatively unchecked.

I think we all just need to look out for ourselves and each other. (Thanks Jerry Springer)
