There's a gas release lever on the S2000?? I can understand however your dismay. That little black pull knob is unlike most cars and certainly other Hondas.

The manual is probably in the secret compartment between the seats and above the verticle glove box...

FWIW...
When I was test driving my S2K, the first thing I asked is "where is the gas cap release?" The salesman didn't know, he asked three people, we were searching all over the place for it. Finally he asked a technician who knew exactly where it was.

I know where it is and still have problems finding it sometimes. Its not intuitive at all. Of course, it was also funny watching the guy at the tire place trying to figure out how to start the car.

I also bought mine used... I called my wife from the pump and she looked it up in my manual.

Regardless, they should make them like push pens if they don't like the little finger whole.

don't feel bad dude. i too didn't know where the little button for the gas tank. it took me a few minutes to find it the first time i filled up the car.
