This stupid phobia of driving the S in the rain with street rubber is ridiculous. All you have to do is not lean on the rubber for grip, drive slow and rely on gravity for grip.

There are POS 1950's cars with bold tires driving in tropical rains in third world countries everywhere, every day.

I second this! If the cars sliding around turns take your damn foot off the gas...as mentioned before its just a rwd car and is designed for all road conditions.

Back when I was driving my S2000 for the first time in the rain I was very careful. I was slow and delibertly careful as I learned that my S2000 is a good wet warm weatherroad car. Now at 19K miles I have even better tires but I still don't drive in wet weather like the road was dry. I also will be putting the car away for the winter as temps are getting into the low 40's

Also, when driving in the rain, remember to stay away from the furthest left lanes on the highways/street roads because that's where the large puddles tend to accumulate.

As long as your tires still have decent tread left as in more than 3/32nds its no problem. Any car will hydroplane if there is enough standing water and you have no tread depth. All you gotta do is take it easy and not go as fast and empty parking lots =

I agree as well.

People are ridiculous. Seems like most newbs havn't driven a RWD car EVER. My first "real" car was a 1971 240Z with an L28ET (around 270rwhp). I was 16 and never had a problem and this was on ****ing white lettered old school BFGs.

In the S2000, Ive also never had a problem with traction, and Im without VSA, Racelogic or brand new tires. Learn to adjust your driving with road conditions and you'll be fine.

I just drive slower than usual and it's fine.

I've never driven a RWD car extensively before my S, I drove my dad's Z a few times but only for a few mins and not in the rain. I had read all about how the S is terrible in the rain and was a little worried.

But, I have now driven it in the rain a few times and must say, so long as you're not trying to be speed racer in the corners, it drives just like any car in the rain. Just be careful in the curves and it drives just fine.
