Dropping RPM during shifting
How much does the rpm's drop after a shift from first to second at redline? I really never noticed this, but when I shift to second at redline, my rpm's drop to 7 then quickly to 6 1/2. Is it me or is it normal? Thanks!

This happens when the gas is all the way to the floor (after the throttle lift-off during shift). The 7 to 6 1/2 rpm drop kinda feels like a bog. AAAaaaarrrrrggggh.........lil' help please .

The first post in this thread will explain why this happens: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=19674
I haven't read it in a while but, parts of your driveline don't slow down fast enough. You're shifting speed is in the middle where it's not slow enough and it's not fast enough. Either slow down your shift for regular driving or slam that baby into second and hear the tires chirp. You'll find out from Woodwork's post that the latter option will cause damage over time.

Thanks for the link. In fact, I just learned how to chirp second gear a few weeks ago after a year and a half owning this car. It's weird though, every car I have driven I have been able to chirp second gear easily. For the S (I've driven a few S's), it is much harder. Thanks again. Latez!
