Default Dropping an a non f20c engine my s2000

My trans is about to go and I just got a knocking code last week.

I am frustrated with it

What engines are possible besides the 2jz which is out of my budget. I want something that will work and fit. That will be around 10k to get running on the street???

SR20DET
13B
LS1????

New transmission+install = 1000

Turbo kit = 6-7000

Turbo F20C=faster than those mentioned for much less money.

Go find a wrecked S with a f20/f22c and boost it. Less of a headache and most likely a cheaper installation.

You're crazy if you think an F20C is going to out perform a 13b-rew, and there's no way it will out do the LS1. The F20 is an amazing motor, but not because it makes big power. You can get 400hp very easily out of a 13b with nothing more than a bigger turbo and fuel injectors and maybe some mild porting.

If he needs to replace the motor, I doubt a new F20C plus turbo kit will be cheaper than a reman'd turbo rotary plus fabrication to get it in there.

I misunderstood.. His motor is doing fine... It's just the tranny.. In that case.. BOOST IT! with a new tranny like afwfjustin said..

High boost F20c is going to be less expensive than any of those swaps, assuming you cannot do the fabrication yourself. The guy is upset that his f20c and tranny are giving him problems and you can seriously suggest he stick in a remanufactured rotary?
