Driving in 100+ degree temperature
Ok, I have been a little reluctant to drive my S2000 when the temperature gets up around the century mark.
My question is whether or not the outside temperature actually effects the internal temperature of the engine?
Or will the engine actually find it's own mean temp regardless of outside temperature factors?

The engine will be fine. 95+ degree days is not uncommon here in Houston. It will be nice and hot, and if your not scared of a little skin cancer---Put the top down!!

I find that even in the 90-95 temps we've been getting here for the last little while, a/c isn't neccessary unless you're sitting still, then of course you HAVE to have it on.... it gets toasty.
But yeah, the car will be fine driving in hot weather, its just a matter of personal comfort more than anything.

I don't mind dry heat, but here in the DC Metro area, it's gets HUMID. So during the summer days, it's get sticky and miserable. So, I only put the top down during the morning drive to work and during night time.

I'm not so much worried about my comfort with the top up or down.
I was worried about the motor.
Let's say that the engine reaches a normal operating temperature of 250 degrees in 80 degree weather. Now, when the temperature spikes up to 110, does this increase of 30 degrees increase the operating temperature to 280. Or does the car still remain at the original 250 degrees?
I'm inclined to think the latter but I have nothing to back it up.

I've driven my S2K in a few 100+ days here in Texas and the temperature gauge sits with three bars even in rush hour traffic. My guess is that the temperature does effect the engine, but not enough to be a concern... actually I'd be more concerned about driving the engine cold in the winter.
