I started to get into this back in 99-00 in my 240sx... sadly tires got expensive and just stop doing it. I got into grip driving more

when its raining or snowing i have certain roads that i like to go on that are empty and have some nice turns. i do low-speed stuff though like 40mph; nothing crazy. i've never been drifting on a track though. i'd rather have a car with more power/torque than the S2000.

I am into drifting. Mainly because my bf does it, but we went to Formula Drift this past September, and there were 2 S2000s there. They both did fairly well, but this one clipped the wall.

I tried it a few times in my bf's s14, and it's fun, but I didn't feel in control at all.

Good luck with it! It is definitely a fun sport to watch!

I do it with my S2000.
When it rains or snows, I go to certain roads that i'm familiar with where it's open and clear and will do some drifting.

I do it but I use a Corolla. I have been doing it off and on for 3 years.
My best advice to you is, take your car + spares to a drift event. For the most part everyone there are friendly and helpful people. If you ask for help someone will help you. I know that there are events out in the chicago area, I just don't remember what the website is.

A wise man once said about drifting: "If you ain't outta control, you ain't in control."

Wait, maybe that wasn't a wise man... come to think of it, that quote is from some lame movie. Hmmm...can't think of the name. Oh well, the movie wasn't worth remembering anyway.

well im glad that other people are doing this in there S My friends think im nuts for doing it in such a new car................ i do it in business districts thats about the only spots you can go all out on and get away with it in chicago....and as for drifting when its wet or on the snow NO WAY........it would be nicer with more torque cuz when i was just starting to learn i was using an 87 stang and it was easier to power over.............Heyiamkate does your bf enter events for drifting ?

How does the s2k's rear end hold up to the abuse? Just curious . . . It doesn't really do much for me, but my best friend really is (he was stationed in Japan for a while) and does some impressive stuff with his S13.

i've been doing "drifting in rain/snow thing" since i got my S three years ago. besides tires going, nothing else has happened to the car. i dont drift on dry pavement because the S just doesnt have enough power, and you'll be likely to break something if you're actually gonna rip on it in dry weather. i would want something like a supra for dry-pavement drifting.
