Double Clutching
Well, i was driving my friends very old pick up, which requires you to doubel clutch in order for it to go into gear. Well, i was thinking, would double cltuching the s2k prolong synchro life? Thanks, Mike

Maybe this will help? http://www3.bc.sympatico.ca/Volvo_Books/mtip899.html
I double clutch all the time, it make for a smoother up/downshift. Unless I'm lazy then I'll let the synchro do its magic.

Upshift double-clutch: When it's time to shift, put it in neutral, ket out the clutch and put it back in (as fast as you can), then go to the next gear.
Hitman: If you double clutch, then putting the shifter into gear feels a lot smoother.(Plus, it makes you feel like a racecar driver)

I'm with "carlson". Explain - This is gonna be good.
On our cars, double clutching may be useful to downshift into 1st at a higher speed so you can be in that gear to keep the revs up to "motor" out of the turn. (We all know that 1st can be a bit tough to get into at higher speeds.) You may "feel" like a race car driver but you'll be at the back of the pack if this is what you do all the time. You're missing one key ingredient: Race car drivers will double clutch AND heal/toe while braking. To double clutch just to think you are saving your synchros is ..........

I know this topic has been done to death before, but I've never seen the answer to one question I've always had:
Double clutching quickly is not easy since you have to cluctch, shft to neutral, release, rev match, clutch, downshift.
Can you just match revs with the clutch depressed and skip neutral or does that somehow cause clutch wear?
