My arms are long enough lean over and unlock the passenger door from the driver's seat.

Years ago, someone (modifry?) had a relatively simple modification to make both doors unlock anytime the driver's door unlocked. If it's a big deal to you, do a search. I usually unlock both using the remote before I get in the car, if I know I'll be having a passenger. If the key's in the ignition, the remote won't work, so you'll have to lean over to unlock it.

Here you go.

I did it. Took 10 minutes. Now I never worry about that stupid lock.

As far as is goes for locking whenever you lock the driver side it auto locks the passenger side. If you wanna be able to unlock then you'll have to mod something. I read one a while back somewhere were you ran wires to your convertible top switch and to unlock you just tapped the button.
