The people in my small farming community think that I have either a Porsche or a Ferrari, they're not sure which one it is.

I live in Ohio and the Harley Davidson guys hate us rocket riders, so every once and a while, I see one of the guys getting on their Harley and say "Man thats one sharp Honda you got there." Talk about pissed off.

I frequently get, "What kind of Porsche is that?" And it is said with great interest! When I tell them it is a Honda, they either stop listening to me spout out the specs. Or, they don't care if it is not a Porsche, or other "expensive brand." Also, I got a speeding ticket(don't be so shocked), and the model was listed as a civic, and no I couldn't get out of it.

I was driving around my dad's Porsche 356 and went to the BMW dealership to check out the new Z4... One of the salesmen comes up to me and says "nice 911" in that tone that only BMW salesmen seem to have... Generally I'd just say thanks and move along, but couldn't let that one go.

My S gets mistaken for a Miata, Z3, Boxster, MRS - even and Alpha Romeo Spyder once...soemtimes I'll correct them, sometimes I won't bother. But the only time anyone has ever called it a Civic is when they're trying to belittle the car - as in "you bought a $30k Civic, dumbass". I could care less about those people though - they're entitled to their opinion, and I'm entitled to think that they're idiots.

Oh, and my VFR gets mistake for a Ducati a lot (as well as my SV, actually) My response is "Hell no! It's a Honda (Suzuki) not some Italian POS."

No

Tell them it isn't a Civic, but that the inside of their brain must resemble the Honda Element - "open and airy"
