Default Does your OEM rear bumper have an "exhaust cutout protector"?

Bought a used 2006 several years ago. Finally installed an aftermarket exhaust last week (Tanabe Medalion Touring - I love it!). While doing so, I noticed that there is a small piece of black plastic that is firmly attached to the inner section (i.e., toward the centerline of the car) of the RH exhaust bumper cutout. This part is apparently used to protect that section of the bumper cutout from heat, etc. Strange thing is that only the inner section of the RH exhaust bumper cutout has that plastic piece; the outer section (i.e., toward the RH side of the car) doesn't have a similar piece attached. Another strange thing is that the LH exhaust bumper cutout does not have ANY plastic piece at all. My friend says the bumper was probably re-finished at one point by the previous owner.

Does your OEM rear bumper have the above-described "exhaust cutout protector"?

Really? Thanks for clearing that up. Why only the RH side? And why only the inner section?
