does your ass wobble with S03's?
hehe. got your attention?
I have Bridgestone S03's 225/45/17 front & 245/40/17 rear mounted on SSR GT1 rims 17 x 7.5 & 17 x 8.
I have about 500+ miles on these new tires now.
I've tried tire pressures ranging from 30 lbs to 40 lbs.
THESE TIRES SUCK!
The car feels like they are running on sponges compared to the OEM S02's.
Under extreme driving conditions:
On turn in, it feels like there is a slight delay before the tires grip and pull you to the direction you are going.
On fast lane changes and back (doing a tight -S-) the car wobbles like an accord!
With my OEM S02's shifting hard into second from redline my back end will break loose and sometimes pull to the side. But it was nice, stiff, and controllable. With the S03's when the back end breaks loose I get a wobbling tail shake before it grips. Its freaking me out.
They say these tires need time to break in. I hope so.....
Any of you guys running S03's on 17 inch rims experience the same thing?
Did the S03's stiffen up for you after some miles?
Thanks

I have 18inch SO-3's on my car with about 3000 miles on them and I'm not experiencing anything like what you are. The only time I break the backend loose is when I'm goofin off or something. I have been satisified with my tires so far and since they don't make 18inch SO-2's for me I guess it doesn't matter anyway....

although i can't comment on 17", i haven't had any problems with the s03s on the rear wheels. i still have the stock s02s on the front.
are you letting the tires warm up?
also when you tried different tire pressure, were they the same all the way around? you might try putting less air in the rears compared to the front tires.

The day after I put my tires on I drove from Atlanta to Knoxville for a club drive. Dragonball Run 2001. I drove the hell out of the car with new S0-3's on it and even then i only had slight rear slipping and that was due to my slamming it around the corners....
I'm running 36psi all the way around....

I'm a big S-03 fan and am extremely happy with mine!
Never experienced any wobble...... mine stick like glue!! Maybe it's the difference in size or something 16 vs 17 or the fact that I have several thousand miles on them. I can tell you this... they also stick a heck of alot better than the bald S02's they replaced.
FWIW I'm running on the stock 16's.

I can't speak for S-03's, but the RE730's on my car were initially very squirrelly. The back end just didn't feel as sure as the OEMs, even when the OEMs were practially bald. Well, to make a long story short, the left tire was at 39psi, the right at 36psi, and when I set both to 32psi the car went back to being solid as a rock. Since you say you've already messed with the tire pressures, I don't know what to say. Also, I never push my car to the ragged edge of traction, so I can't tell you how the new tires feel vs the originals at the edge.
Looking back I'm guessing it was the differential pressure between the left/right side that was the problem, but I've never been motivated to experiment and find out
