I've found that redlining 2nd and going to 6th doesn't work(gotta wait till motor winds down a bit to do that)

As with you I grind once in a blue moon when my mind wanders as when I'm tired. I did it for the first time 2 days ago, after not doing it for over a year and a half. It was a rough night shift and I was on my way home in the morning. My clutch foot was not playing the same tune as my shift arm.

Hey RedRice,
Sorry to hear about your S. Hope you get it fixed soon.
Sorry I didn't make it to the car show way back when (I had the 7-day flu). How did you do on the show?
I just want someone to post an update on this issue. Sounds very interesting.
I too have MY 02, and had this shifting from 1st to 2nd "grind" 1-5x/mo for the first 5-6 months, but it went away now.
Also, when someone else drove my car that never happened.
Maybe I just got used to driving my S? I'm probably wrong, but hey, I haven't "grinded" past couple of months regardless of DC weather. It's just not as smooth w/ cold weather.
Anyhow, someone please update this info when their grinding issue gets resolved.
Thanks in advance,
LT

Mine '02 is having a little quarel with me when I put it into 2nd too. Sometimes it's real smooth and sometimes it's very notchy and clicky. You guys think there's something wrong with the linkage?

from Mid County...
1. Left - Shady Grove rd.
2. Right - Muncaster Mill Rd.
3. Left - Muncaster Rd.
4. Right - 108
5. Immediate left on Brookesville Rd.
this is a nice road :-D u will go thru a stop sign...
6. Right - Rte 97 (Georgia Ave.)
7. Left - Prince Phillips (this is a neighborhood)
go thru 2 stop signs...
8. Left - back onto 108
Keep going straight for about 10-15 mins, you will see an Exxon on your right, and the autopark on the left. Go down 2 lights and turn left onto Auto drive, JCH is going to be on your right hand side.
Good luck to your fix,
Mike W.
