Default Does Your 02 S, Grind Shifting Into 2nd Gear?

My S grinds when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear at high RPM's and in the cold it wont even go into 2nd I have to skip and go from 1st to 3rd.
I have seen TSB's on earlier S2000 for the same problem I went to the dealer to have this fixed and they told me there were no TSB's on the 02's for transmission I know some of you have this same problem, what did you do about it if anything? Or do you just live with it?

Thanks in advance for your replies
Matt

I've seen the same thing on my '03. You need to learn to pause for a split second before hitting second. There's no measurable drop in acceleration or any increase in 0-60/1320 times if done correctly.

I have an 02' and have never had a problem. My car shifts smooth when cold/warm doesn't matter. (although it does shift more smooth when warm)

There does not need to be a TSB for the dealer to fix your car. If you are having shifting problems have it looked at. If your dealer tells you there is no problem find another dealer. We have repaired the trans on MY02 even though the TSB you are refering to does not apply.

I have never had a problem with my '02. I autox and track it often and still no high rpm shift grinding. Stored during the winter so I can't speak to the cold shifting part.

My '02 occasionally grinds 1st-2nd (once or twice a month). If you cannot get into 2nd when it is cold, there is definitely a problem. Do you park your car outside overnight?

Yes it is in the cold all night, and when it warms up it will go into 2nd, I have herd of different fluids that may cure this problem, but that just sound like a band-aid to me, if I can get the dealer to fix this that would be great.

I have a MY02 and do not have that problem -- unless I get lazy and start letting the clutch out before I've completed the shift.

But then again, I don't get to "high RPMs" until it's warmed up.

I've got an '03 (3,500 miles) and several of tranny problems already:

Grind going into 2nd. This has started recently, but is already frequent. This is not speed dependent.

Clutch slips if engaged smoothly. Basically the only way to get the car moving w/o jack-rabbiting is to release the clutch quickly at > 3k rpms. < 3k and its like riding a bronco

Difficult to shift into 1st when cold unless the car is completely stationary

I'm trying to schedule an appointment at the dealer this weekend. I'll let you know what they say.
