My CRX-Si needed to be updated, because of driving schools the new car had to be rear-wheel drive. I was seriously thinking an older used NSX or a Mazda RX7 although I really wanted to stay loyal to Honda.

When I saw the 1st pic of the SSM in AutoWeek I knew what I wanted. The fact that it was an open-top car was just a huge plus, but my motivation was rear-wheel drive. Period.

The fact that I could get a yellow soft-top, well hell, that just made it perfect!

Here in the good 'ole midwest, it's good to have a roadster/convertible on the occasional nice fall day.

wife, kids,

bmw 325 coupe, Audi A4

the plate says it all...

Best shifter I've ever touched, stellar handling, engine, almost enough space for stuff...

The top is what I refer to as icing on the cake.

It was in the mid sixties and sunny here in New Jersey today (Saturday) for the first time after a week of clouds. We raked the leaves, washed the cars and did our chores. The kids were content to stay home and play Grand Theft Auto IV. My wife and I lowered the top and went for a two hour drive to nowhere just like we used to do before the kids were born and life was less complicated.

OF COURSE THE TOP MATTERS!!!

The convertible top w/glass rear window was the main reason I purchased my S. I had my mind set on a 330ci, as soon as I knew the '02s would have glass, byebye 330ci and saved myself $6K.
