Default Does cold weather have adverse affects on the top

Has anyone left there S outside in the winter. I live in CT and do not have a garage to put my S in. It will be sitting in the snow all winter long and I was curious if anyone else has done this or knows if it will damage the top. Also has anyone had experience driving in the snow and if so is there any ground cdlearance problems with snow on the road.

the thing you should be worried about is operating the top in cold temps. that wll cause you problems.

I wouldn't think that a wet, heavy snow sitting on it for long periods of time would be a good thing either.

With the right snow tires, you shouldn't have too much problem getting around in the snow. Please do not attempt to drive in snow using the factory tires. Ground clearance problems will depend on how your car is vs. how deep the snow is.

As for the top, the manual states to avoid operating the top in cold weather. Otherwise, you should be fine.

As someone else mentioned, I wouldn't let heavy snow accumulate on the top for long periods of time. Also, take care in removing snow from the top. You don't want to risk tearing the top by trying to scrape or remove snow from the top.

Also use the appropriate section of your ice scraper to remove ice from the plastic rear window as that can be easily scratched!

Crashing here in Germany in winter conditions with summer tyres normally gives you a 40% at fault responsibility! Mount good winter tyres on and you'll be fine. Snow driving can be a lot of fun, too!
