I know www.x10.com has some good deals.

Also, there is another one...I think it's like something electronics.com. I'll have to think about it and I'll repost when I figure it out.

Use 3m "dual lock" then. It's like next generation velcro. 3m makes good residue-limited adhesive. Another thought is to fasten it using one of the holes that the plastic clips go through.... There are a row of 1cm black plastic "brads" that tack the console to the metal underneath. They are removed by using a "trim remover tool" ($5.00 at Autozone, used it to remove carpeting for sound deadener). You could make holes in the gel and tack it down on top. Or put adhesive dual lock on top of the "brads." If there's residue, then you can buy new "brads" for ~$2.00 each.

Even if you replace the console later, it's pretty cheap. Or you can surely buy a used one off ebay for ~$50.

Just to update. I got a computer gell wrist rest for $15 that's black so it blends in and is the correct length and thickness.

I tried double side tape but the tape doesn't stick to the bottom of the wrist rest since it's not a smooth surface. I think I may be able to staple the 2-side tape and then stick it to the console.

I am still trying to work on a tape solution, I don't want to drill or do real work with tools. My neighbor is an autobody guy so maybe I can ask him if the tape doesn't work.

Overall it seems to be a great solution and I'm sorry I didn't do it years ago.

Thanks to all

LOL

Maybe I don't need to buy a new car after the gel-pad mod.

Dude, if you put in heated seats for ~$100 and a new stereo you might find little need for something new.

Check out this plug and play installation:

I'm wishing I knew about this before replacing the stereo... really thinking about upgrading... even though I know I'll never use Navi on this vehicle.
