The difference of 25-28 hp is from the stock setup verses the Amuse powerhouse straight through single with a toda header.

From Bulletproof.com about the R1000...

70mm piping, 115mm tip, straight pipe integrated design, and no silencer. This is the lightest, loudest and best flowing Amuse exhaust. Not recommended (or legal) for street use. Weight is 4.1kg = 9 lbs Stock Weight is 30.4kg = 66.8 lbs Weight reduction of 57.88 lbs! Update: Now available in a new full blue Titan color (the burnt Ti blue color at the edge of the exhaust tip can be applied to the entire exhaust tip and piping), please notify us of your prefrence in coloring if you would like the new full blue version.

I have this from emails to bulletproof...

As for sound the R1000 is over 100 dB, the R1 single is 96 dB and the R1 dual is 93 dB. The R1 has 63.5 mm piping, same tip, has a resonator and weighs ~1 lb more. The R1000 connects straight to the header and the R1 connects to the cat.

Rumor is that the R1000 should make a few more hp over the R1.

From toda website, their header makes 4 hp on the top end..

The amuse header is pretty badass. From bulletproofautomotive.com... "Genuine AMUSE Exhaust Manifold for Honda S2000 At 10 lbs, it is the lightest header for the S2000, and 5 lbs lighter than Mugen! Gains of over 10hp mid range and 2-5 hp peak."

Rumor is the mugen header is 5 lbs lighter than stock as well...

IMO the 10-15 hp doesn't mean all that much to me, but it's the craftsmanship and the weight saving that all Amuse exhausts offer. Plus, the burnt tip adds some extra BLING to the car. Go AMUSE

If you are looking to get the Amuse let me know we carry it. We actually have a R1 in stock at the moment.
