Default Do you use Honda oil filters?

I'm still on original dino oil at 2500 miles and will likely use dino oil for the first oil change then use Mobil 1 synthetic thereafter. Who makes the Honda filter? Honda? Since I will be going with Mobil 1 should I also use their filter?

It has been gone over before, the Honda filter is about as good as they get. The Mobile 1 filter is good also but If you use someone elses and the filter fails (Frams have) Honda doesn't have to warrantee your engine. If the Honda filter fails (unlikely) Honda has to cover your engine.

Why use anything else.

Bieg,
Your post makes logical sense. I'll stick with Honda.

Thanks,
John

I think it depends... but you can bring your own filter and ask them to use it. BTW I've seen some independent tests that suggest staying away from Fram filters. Seems like Wix is a good filter. But stick with Honda for reason mentioned by Bieg.

Honda filter - and go ahead and get the washer for the oil pan bolt too! Order them through Trevor (TAllen), one of the site's sponsors. Just click the link below to http://www.handa-accessories.com

I'll third the motion! Beig and Shingles have obviously heard the same thing I have. Stick with honda. Order them cheaper than the dealer at http://www.handa-accessories.com/s2000.html . I get all my parts from them, A/C Air Filter element, wiper blades, oil filter, touch up paint, blah-blah...

The washer is very soft and deforms when you tighten the bolt in order to create a good seal. When you re-use old washers, you risk dripping oil out of the pan. This is not serious, just dirty and ugly and unbecoming of your beautiful car. Use a new washer.
