Do you use the AC?
#35
If more of you had the misfortune of living here in Oklahoma, you would understand why I use the AC (top up) for about 1/3 of the year. Heat and humidity are bad here. Today (yet in May) it was in the mid 90s, with high humidity. Indeed, story has it that we have only two "roadster days" per year -- one in April and one in October. Other times, it is too hot, too cold, too dusty, too rainy, too much hail, or too much snow.
Well, at least I can attest to the fact that the S 2000 DOES have an AC system (and a heater) that can do well under the most extreme conditions.
In other climates, such as Colorado with its moderate temperatures and low humidity, I doubt that I ever would have used the AC. But I sure as heck would have used the heater.
Problem is, here in Oklahoma, I have to use both -- regularly.
Thanks,
Richard

I use it when the top is up, summer season during the day, it get really hot right under the sun. Plus if i am hauling someone(cough..gf), i would turn on the AC instead of the window, i don't mind to be riding in sweaty hot car but i am sure my gf feels very different about it.
You guys are nuts for top down and a/c, the gas price is kill me already.
(drag with top down, a/c for power drain)

Hey, no! Using the AC really does not reduce fuel efficiency for me. Actually, it seems that running with the top down and/or with the windows open reduces fuel efficiency just as much. And, I'm running about 24 mpg in town either way. Now what other car could I own that gets around 24 mpg in town, and also gets 0 to 60 in the 5's and has a top speed between 150 and 160?
Thanks,
Richard
