this will be my first time at the track, and im not sure how much rock damage gets done.

basically i have my stock wheels with little tread left. and i have on my rpf1's. im wondering how much damage is usually done by rocks and such to the wheels. i see people taping off their front bumpers but what do you guys do with your wheels?

as long as you dont go flying into the dirt you should be fine. I tracked with my white work's on, and I just wiped them down after each session (brake dust)

Actually a light wheel can be very beneficial at the track more than anywhere else.

Get a second set and put r-comps on it.

This thread should be moved to the racing forum.

Wheels were meant to spin, not look pretty. All you wheel whores forget that its rotating mass, and the less it weighs, the better.

When I was at the track I didn't have any rock damage or anything. Most people just tape their forward facing glass since thats usually required. Some do more and do the whole front and mirrors but i dont think it's worth the time.

Between the agricultural excursion, brake dust and tire rubber, my track wheels (Volks) are looking pretty ratty at this point.
