Do you normally get the clutch pedal up in reverse
#13
The clutch is a wear item, when it wears out, replace it. Do you try to baby your brake pedal and pads all the time?
And YES I am aware there is a cost difference between brakes and a clutch job, but if I found myself constantly obsessing over the wear to my FRICTION disk, I think I'd buy an automatic (my current S is my 15th consecutive manual car BTW).
Relax and enjoy the car.
Cheers,
Mike

I agree with Mike, the clutch will wear down eventually. Yeah you might be slipping it, but if you are keeping your RPM's around 1k and feathering the clutch, I don't think you are going to do too much damage. Its not like you are launching at 6k RPM and slipping the clutch.

VTEC in reverse FTW!!
Jk, but Im sure someone on here has done it!
Dont worry about your clutch, there are plenty of 100k miles + S2000s on here without clutch changes and Im sure theyve gone in reverse more than a few times. It was designed to wear.

i dont think a little distance in reverse will wear down your clutch but a huge deal, so i dont go all the way up. sometimes i'm tempted to let it all up coz i feel bad reversing on my driveway coz its really long, but i just cant navigate that fast reversing.

if it wears down then thats the excuse to get an after market clutch and lightweight flywheel to remedy my ap2's sluggishness
edited for spelling errors coz those piss me off

I have a toda flywheel and ACT pressure plate with a stock clutch disc . . . my excuse was the transmission TSB for AP2's . . . as long as the tranny was dropped, the new toys went in Its all grip now . . . definitely an improvement for an AP2 considering we have such a heavy flywheel.
