Default Do you lock you car?

Past experiece with a gaggle of MGBs/Midgets/BugEyes suggested it wasn't a good idea to lock those cars... if the local turd wants whats inside he's going to get it one way or another (cut top)... since you fine folks have made me somewhat mindful of the fact that there are folks who like our seats, shift knobs, etc. as much as we do I've decided not to leave anything worth taking in my car and not locking it... way too many words to ask you... do you lock it or just leave it? Oh yeah. got them seat locks, thanks for the tip!

Here in S.FLA, you're asking for an easy robbery if you leave a car unlocked. Just the fact that your car is locked and has an alarm (i really hope you do) will make them think twice.

you don't lock your car lol?

Why would you not just lock it when all it takes is a push of a button. Don't be suprised when you come out to your car one time and the seats are gone

of course a thief will take them if he wants them bad enough, but if you lock it at least he has to cut the roof, hop in the car, pull the soft top back etc.

If you leave it unlocked, someone can walk up to it like they own it and cya

I guarantee the prospect of having to cut the top and crawl through will deter a majority of would-be criminals.

I lock it even when the top is down and parked right in front of my work.

It's just habit.

I dont' think the theft problem is as big here in Canada as it appears to be in SoCal and Florida. I can leave my car open and no one would steal it. I do lock it though everytime. I did come out once when I had left the top down and when I came out there was a guy leaning over into my car (I think he was going for the sunglasses) but he didn't get them.

Seats being stolen up here is pretty much unheard of. For us it is more the jelous or the young punks vadalizing the cars. That and stereo theft so mine stays stock this time around.

yeah, locking it would be advisable.

Off topic:
have you guys ever dreamt about your car being stolen? I have had about 3 or 4 dreams about my car being jacked. I live in SoCal so that's probably why.

I always lock mine, top up, top down, where ever I am at.
