Default Do you let your friend(s) drive your S2K?

Just curious. I don't let anyone drive it except my mechanic. My viewpoint is probably skewed due to my friend having a wooden left leg. Although he drives stick shifts, I can't bring myself to let him drive the S. Am I in violation of the ADA?

when i got my car in 99, i let my friends drive it to check it out. everyone was pretty cool with it so I didn't have to worry about anyone messing my car up. I guess it helps to have mature freinds even if i'm not .

As for your bias...its your car, I guess you can decide however you want, but I can't see any harm in letting your friend drive the car if he/she knows how to drive a stick anyways. I can't see barring someone from sharing the best driving experience I've had just b/c of a disability. Just my 2c

So far I haven't been able to bring my self to let anyone but my brother drive my S, but then again, I have only had the car for a month.

No. And understand, I'm not overly sensitive about my car... Just don't believe anyone should be touching her "that way". Oh, holy crap! I'm pitiful! Hell, I wouldn't even let my wife take it on a test drive the night I purchased it!!! Passenger seat's fine...but anyone but me better know their place!

In the same vein, I'd *hate* to be the passenger when I drive sometimes!!! Unable to be in control while a maniac zips through the traffic??!!! Uggh...that'd be the pits!

I've let plenty of friends drive it - I'm happy to share the fun as long as they're responsible.

I agree, sharing is a lot of fun. My brother, son, and some friends have driven mine. I even did one full weekend track event where both my son and I drove in different groups.. great event and I was nervous only a couple of times.

Aside from valets and mechanics, I've let two people drive my car -- both for about 5 mins. Same reaction from both of them too: "Damn you, now I have to buy one!"

Apart from the dealer the only people I have let drive my S2 are my girlfriend and two friends who both race cars and one runs an NSX and the other had a Type R.
