If you're running one of the old green plates in Massachusetts it's not required.

I have one and it's required in Hawaii. I have a friend who's a S2000 owner here that doesn't and got pulled over for it. I won't mention names [cough]darth[/cough].

Randy, I'm confused about something. In your post you said that a cop might let you off the speeding, but ticket you for the front plate (and you suggested that's a bad thing).

I have found that to be true as well, but I have to restate it that the cop might let you off the speeding and ONLY ticket you for the front plate. I look at this as a good thing, as it's a lower fine and not a moving violation (no points).

oh.. i got pulled over today for not having one. he let me off though, but if if i was caught the next time he would double the fine.. =( gonna get a comptech license plate frame tomorrow.

You got that right! Every time I go to VA, I see at least 1 cop every mile on I-95, and if that isn't bad enough, there is signs everywhere saying "Speed checked from aircraft radar, or something of that nature.
