Do you get gas coming out the overflow?

I took my car in today because my check engine light was on plus the gas smell and they found a damaged gasket on the gas tank. So essentially the gas tank was open. Every time I went around a turn gas was coming out and that caused the smell. I'm assuming this is also why the pump didn't shut off when it was full. Also this could explain my crappy gas milage for my first tank. I did get a pretty sweet corolla as a loaner.

like i said, make sure you have those bastard check the charcoal canister.

if you don't keep a close watch on the repair, they probably just put in a new gasket, and reset the cel(probably detecting a leak in the "sealed" or air sealed fuel system.)

if the canister is already soaked, it will crap out later down the road.

again, that little thing cost like 400 bucks
