Check this article as well.

One of my comments and a good advise is this one:
A fellow owner also gave me his advise in case you jack up your S2000. You can always put the wheels flat underneath the S and lower the car on them. Not a bad idea actually.

aside for jackstands, and leaving the jack up also, I put a tire/rim on either side under the car to prevent it fully falling if it ever did.

So use to working under cars, actually feel safe under the car. Lol me and many other friends have falling asleep under race cars after trying to finish a car before a race day and only have 30 minutes of sleep after 24 hours.

I get paranoid as well. I always have one more mount point than wheels off the ground. So if 2 wheels are in the air I have 2/3 jackstands and the jack. And if all 4 wheels are in the air I have 4/5 jackstands and a jack.

ya just have 1 or 2 fail-safes. If you think logically, how often do jack stands fail? And after that how often do cinderblocks, ramps or more jack stands fail all at once? Your fine.. Also, it would be a graceful way to die under the S. Next time i'll tell my dad if it falls on me to take a picture before he calls 911 so i can post it here.

I use my race jack as a backup to the jack stands just in case but yea I'm deathly paranoid about working under any car. Friend of mine had a jack fail and the car crush him...almost died but survived to tell the tale.

Because the cell phone will save you... must be an iphone

I jack it up, and put the jack as 'oh shit' near where I'm working. IE changing the oil, there is the jack near me. All that really matters is where you are is protected.

It's dangerous, but has to be safer than driving. It's just you and the car. Anything that happens is on you.

When my car is up on 4 jackstands, I keep my main jack on the front center jack point. I keep another secondary jack on the rear diff (unless im working on diff fluid or something), and I'm still paranoid.
