Having spent alot of time in the Atlanta area I've never seen as many car fires as I have seen in Hotlanta! There have been so many, I started carrying a fire extinguisher in my car at all times. My concern, odly enough, is not so much for me as it is for the other guy. So I'm wondering who else is carrying one to look out for ME?

 

Carry one in my trunk.

Once, when I owned a 1964 VW Beetle, the fan belt snapped and ripped the fuel line from the carburetor, starting a fire.

 

Don't carry one in the S, since I don't drive it all that much. I do have one in the 4 Runner though, which I carry for my safety, and that of other people. Just like a first aid kit, or tow rope, you never know when you are going to need one. I wouldn't leave home without it!

Just a word of advice,,, If the thing is ripping, a fire extingjisher probably won't do much good. It will take a buttload of water to cool things down.
Your insurance has already kicked in, so don't get hurt going after something that is more than a little extinguisher can handle.
