Rarely in 1st but frequently in 2nd. By then I am hitting 100kmh which is typically 40kmh over the suburban speed limit here so I then back off.

I think it would be very interesting to find a track or a an air strip to find out what it feels like to redline in every gear.
Generally after shifting 1-2 and 2-3 at 9k, I am already breaking most every US speed limit.

Howie, when taking off quickly is desired, I shift at about 8600 to 8700 RPM to stay in the torque/power peak. And I ussualy get a tire chirp in second and third.

When I'm in the VTEC mood, I usually hit 9K in 2nd, sometimes in 3rd. By then I'm way over speed limits and starting to get nervous Mr. Law is lurking.

I have hit 9k in gears 1-5. Not sure about hitting it in 6th. I would need a long downhill stretch.

If peek HP happens at 8300 RPM wouldn't it be advantagous to shift then. I would think with the bell curve you start to slowly lose HP after 8300. This is why they have lights on the tach on drag cars so you easily know what RPM to shift at without looking (I think). So, hit 8300 RPM max HP and then shift. Any comments???
