Do trunk subs sound good? Or should I wait for the under-the-seat from Honda?

No there isn't -- there's the convertible top "well/tub" where the convertible rests when you go top down, but if you take out that panel, it goes straight through to the trunk, so a lot of bass can get through from the trunk to sub. What my installer did was remove that panel, and open it up a bit then cover it up with grill cloth to allow more bass through, and protect the vinyl rear window!
Here's some pics:

Hope this helps!

That is pretty cool, but I would hate to cut up the interior of the car more than I absolutely have to in order to get some bass. I was just hoping that my 8 inch bazooka tube would operate in the trunk without cutting through and still provide enough bass to make it worth the while. The under-the-seat sub that I was talking about was the one that is sold at handa-accessories.com, which is supposedly 'hondas sub'. For some reason it is not being sold at the moment.

so far a lot of advise has been given, but the main question, "would an 8 inch bazooka sound good," has not been answered!
we know we can cut and modify, and we know expensive installs sound great, but would a basic 8 inch get us anywhere?
thanks much

Ok, here's what I suggest, and this is what my installer did for me.
Take an 8" Bazooka, power it with the amp you're planning to use (or something a bit less), throw it in your sub wired from an outside source (most sound shops have a test "wall" that can wire up) and test it out to your liking! Cuz in all honesty, sound is such a subjective area that to some people an 8" isn't enough, but to others, it's more than enough! You can worry about the actual installation and layout once you're happy with the bass you're getting!
This is the exact same test I went through to pick out my components.

I have a Clarion marine sub under my seat as it is a low profile unit and the seat still goes back except for the last notch. For me, it is satisfactory and uses unused space. I also have an amp behind the seat and Boston Acoustic speakers in the front, tweeters in the sides of the doors and 2 speakers in the plastic panels. Great sound and no space compromise. Works for me.

don't know about the bazooka but many guys have set up single and dual 8's in the trunk well and wlaurent makes a very cool ported custom enclosure for one or 2 subs for the trunk sides that slip in and out in a minute. i ordered and have those but haven't had time for the install yet. u should check out the electronics forum to meet the people who are in to sounds and do a search or just check thru the thread going back the last 3 months, there's plenty of good info.
