Default Do roadside varmints avoid S2K?

I don't know if it's the drop top, stereo volume (thanks Pinky), engine note, exhaust note or the HID bulbs but I've noticed that varmints (racoons, deer, turkeys, squirrels, rabbits, etc.) don't generally freeze in the middle of the road but are running like hell before I even get get near them. We live in a heavily wooded area and see MANY road kills all over the place but I've never had a close encounter (knock on wood) in the Honda. The other night two racoons ran screaming off the road and a little further up three deer took off from the roadside as I approached.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed this - or if maybe I should take a shower....

I haven't encountered so many, so I can't tell you for sure.

I just ran over an animal the other night...seemed he wanted to play with my rear tire...came out of nowhere and I didnt even see it. Just felt it as my rear tire ran over it.

You just keep knockin' on that wood. Sooner ro later you'll nail something; I hope it's not like the guy whose Audi I saw a few years ago at the bodyshop with a donkey in the front seat.

Should you, in fact, hit a poor unsuspecting animal, and you are a gourmet or gourmand, consider this tome. You may find it useful.

Bon apetite!

I don't run across much road kill on the mean streets of Chi-town, USA, but on the way to Asheville, you remember RU2REDY, Keith ran SQUARE over a dead thing on the highway. Both wheels....SQUISH....over something that was already dead, yes, so it didn't have the chance to bolt.

I haven't hit anything, thank god, in the S2000. But that doesn't mean you don't need to take a shower...

A small, low-flying bird got wedged in my grille, and I flattened a small rabbit that came out of nowhere.

I've seen plenty of deer, but no close calls. I have deer whistles on all my vehicles, and never had a problem.
