Do people hit their head on the soft top frame

Please, enough with the avoiding an accident threadjack.
I'm pretty confident the top is folding all the way down with or without the pad. I've seen pics of tops that don't go down when the straps are worn and it doesn't look like that.

I'm not seeing how that doesn't interfere with the top folding properly. The support bar above the hinge has to move backwards for the the folded top to sit properly and the padding you added makes it harder for that motion to complete. Your elastic straps that should pull the bar down look pretty well worn as well so unless you're holding the bar down with your hand while the top is lowering (like I have to do on mine), your top isn't folding all the way down.

First thing I did when I bought the car, see how much I had to move my head (or have my head moved) in order to hit it. I decided it was pretty far away, and any accident in which I would be subjected to enough sideways force to do it, a lump on my head and a slight concussion would probably be the least of my problems.
Considering that I'm 6ft 2, and have never had a passenger taller than 6ft in my car, it's not something that concerns me unduly.

These linkages are pretty generously rounded by Honda, so lacerations can be avoided. Is the distance really that much different with a regular (hard top) car from occupant's head to the upper (door) frame? At least the soft top frame is pretty flexible compared to a fixed roof and because of that perhaps absorbs a lot of energy upon contact in a crash. Anyway, I'm not an expert on this kind of stuff, so what do I know, right?

You seriously bought a convertible and are worried about what's going to hit what during a crash?
