Do any of you guys use Oil Treatment when changing your oil?

Actually I've read that the oil additives with teflon can cause build up in your engine. They're a total waste of money. Has anybody else seen the Prolong infomercial where they claim that they can totally drain the oil and drive around all day with no oil after they added Prolong the day before? Any company making a ridiculous claim like that must not have anything real they can claim so they made up something totally ridiculous and unbelievable. Save your money for something worthwhile.

I have no plans to use oil additives. However, I do have one question.
The factory fill should not be changed until it really needs it because of an additive in the oil. (I recall it's moly and that there is disagreement about whether it gets into the oil from being placed on parts before assembly or is added to the oil.)
Um, why is this additive good if Honda puts it in but unnecessary if someone else does it?

Crabby Guy,
In a previous tread I asked the saame question. I have not changed my initial oil yet, but when I get to 7500 miles I was considering using dyno oil with some moly and then switching to synthetic oil at the next change.
I specifically asked if you drive with "severe" conditions and change the initial breakin oil at 3500 miles should you add moly to the dino oil until you get to 7500 miles.

I have a 92 gsr that i have used amsoil and BG moa in since new. The valves need adjusted in that car every 15000 miles. My acura dealer always says how clean my valves and inside the engine looks. I have always serviced it there and used to work there. I know the techs there and always chat with them when i am waiting there. The techs use it, And they use it with there retail customers on oil changes as an additive on there service menu. I am using it my s. who knows if it is the synthetic oil or both that keep my integra running great. We will see how it does in my car.

I know Honda recommends not changing the original oil for the first 7500 miles but it's gonna take more perseverance than I possess to refrain from doing it.
My compromise: Change the filter at 3k and change the oil at 6k. Another 3k with Dino juice and then changing to synthetic at 9k. I don't track my car but she does see a lot of "spirited" driving.
She's also not a daily driver. I don't think additives offer much in the way of extra protection or longevity because big oil companies would surely offer their own versions. Several of these "snake oil" companies are being/have been sued over their misleading claims. This article (and site) offers some constructive insight for mental ruminations IMO:http://skepdic.com/slick50.html
