I figure the Mobil 1 Synthetic I use is better than ANY aftermarket garbage you can add to your oil.. (especally anything with PTFE, keep it away from MY engine)The Manufacturers have already put the additives in your oil it needs to keep it(your engine) working properly.. DON'T put any snake oil into it to muck up the mix...

No offense, but our "imagination" is why companies making oil additive stay in business.

I'll go with Honda's Engineering recommendation, thank you.

For enthusiasts who don't have an owner's manual, page 164 basically states the engine does not need oil additives and Honda doesn't recommend their use.

Now take that money you just saved and buy yourself a Western Whopper at Burger King. They're pretty good!

What Destiny2002 said. Just change your oil regularly and your engine will thank you.

Honda doesn't recommend synthetic oil either, yet people "imagine" it's better just like oil additives. Talk about hypocrisy.

i use BG MOA in my h22a accord, it works great. the oil is stiill very clean after i drain it and MOA prevents the oil from sludging up and losing its viscosisty. BG makes great products, but im not sure if i want to use it in the f20c, since it specifically says not to in the owners manual. damn it..

Does Honda recommend that we refrain from using synthetic oil?
Or do they just not mention it?

"What about synthetic motor oils?

You may use a synthetic motor oil if it meets the same requirements given for conventional motor oil; energy conserving, a service classification of SJ and the proper weight as shown on the chart in the Engine Oil section of your Owner's Manual. When using synthetic oil, you must follow the oil and filter change intervals given in the maintenance schedule."

The above Q & A is quoted from the AHM Ownerlink.

Honda does not want you to use synthetics because that means your car will last much longer, hence, not as much expensive service and longer car life.... less $$$$ for them.
