"Hmmm...I'm gonna have go ahead and disagree with you on this one" (Bill Lumberg)

I think the car looks pretty good from all angles. The Z4 on the other hand.....

Yes and no.

I absolutely love the lines of the S2000. All of them (AP1 and AP2, okay a little less fanatic about the side creases on the AP2 front bumpter, but they've grown on me and the front lip will cover them up ).

Whereas, as much as the Z4 has grown on me, there will ALWAYS be lines or design elements that are unconventional or just plain odd.

With that said, there are always optical illusions that make any car appear odd to me from various vantage points. For example, when I park my S2000 in the garage, if I look back at it from the stairs leading into the house, the top of the front flared fender appears to look more like the side. This give the illusion that the car is taller and more narrow than it really is. Just my eyes playing tricks on me. In the end, I think the S2000 is one of the prettiest cars on the road.

(I've over-thought this one, haven't I? )

I have to agree with you to a certain point. Only when I look at it (we all do ) at one particular angle the front does not do so much to me, but in all the other angles it surely does

Yesterday I was walking to the car from behind like anybody would see the car being in the fast lane and overtaking me, and all I could think (thinking I was the guy in the 'fast lane' car) was... Howly $h*t, that looks fast and very nice, I'm in trouble!

In that thread, we see mostly modified S2000s - ones with GOOFY stickers and other "personalized" touches. Any modified cars will be extensions of the owners' own tastes and cannot be used to make a statement as:
there are times and angles that the S looks really beautiful and others when it borders on fugly.
If you choose a bunch of pictures depicting only stock S2000s, then such a statement can result in a more meaningful discussion. Some of those pictures are of "fugly" S2000s because the owner made them that way and it is perceived as being unsightly by some who view them.

Can you point to some of the pictures that you consider to be ugly so we have an idea what you are talking about? There are just too many pictures in the referenced thread. And "ugliness", like beauty, is really in the eye of the beholder.

I agree w/ OP.

I love every angle of my S, EXCEPT the side profile. I can't see any of the car's angles. Just looks plain.

Agree 100%. Looks like chit from the side. Very dated looking. All other angles I <3.

The only angle I don't like is straight on, from below the bumper, say squirrel height.
