MY00, 01 have a plastic rear window, glass was started on the 02.
The ECU is different on the 02 and up.
different stereo on the 02 and up
different rear lights on the 02 and up
04 has different light front and rear...different front end and rear end starting 04...i love it!
as the years went on the car's suspension became softer and softer.
There is a ton more...most definately do a search...you will definately be happy with the car not matter what year you get.
personally I think a real S2000 is one that revs to 9000. hehehehe sorry 04 and 05 owners.

I just traded in my 01 model for an 05. And I totally agree the 01 (9000 RPM) was much for fun to drive. The 05 does ride much smoother and shift smoother, but not as racey.

yeah, i think that the 9000 RPM really set the car a part from the rest of the field. I understand the changes they made in the 04-05 cars were done because of what North America was looking for in that price range.
Either way, I love any S2000 out there.

If you're looking at 00-02, my suggestion is to get the 02. has a lot of updates, and a few nice added features the 00-01 don't have.

Every year the S2k gets updates.....even from 04-05. We just dont hear about them all. Its called CI (Contunuous Improvement).
But since he was looking at buying only 00-02 model years, I thought I'd help point out the obvious in case he hadn't thought of it already. lol
