Diff replaced under warranty - No probs
About one week before christmas, my diff starting ticking on the way home. When I came to a near stop, the grinding noise was aweful. I went home and called around to all the dealers to see who would see me. I found out that the main s2k tech at Steven's Creek Honda had an SC'd s2k. I decided to take it there. I was scared that they might give me a hard time about my SC. I don't race my car. I've had the charger on since 3000 miles and am at 28,850 and haven't had any problems with the engine. They inspected the car and said they'd cover it. They gave me a rental, had my diff the next day, replaced it, and I was back on the road in less than 2 days! Absolutely wonderful service. They let me do the inspection test drive after they took it off the rack, and never parked it outside at all. They said the warranty costs were about $4000 for diff + labor. HOLY CRAP! How could it possibly cost that much. I'm just glad that honda didn't give me a hard time about the SC and try to blame the issue on that.
I'm just glad my car is fixed and hope this doesnt happen again. I have the honda care 100k warranty so I hope i'm covered for a while still.

You are indeed LUCKY! LUCKY! LUCKY!
A supercharger would generally void all of the powertrain warranty and maybe even other bits too. I don't think any dealer near me would be so "cooperative".

The complete differential assembly lists for $3,000 from Honda. The installation of the complete assembly is not much - since you're just bolting the driveshaft and axles on. If you rebuild something on the inside, that's where the labor becomes an issue.
Squeezer, you're definitely going to spend more than a grand getting the car fixed no matter what it is. Just the labor on putting a rear end back together can be $500 (done it). Start saving up.

The added complication of having a diff "fixed" out of warranty, is that Honda dealers generally do not have the expertise to fix something like this.
