The first time I saw an S2000 in person was on the day I picked up my red rocket, which I had put a depost toward two months earlier. I knew that it was the only car I wanted the first time I read about it.

Test drove but knew enough about the car already to know I was in love. Actually, I felt like the car was totally unlike anything I'd ever driven before, kinda awkward (at first) with such a large rev range, but once I felt the 2nd generation VTECH rush at 6200 RPM I knew I HAD to have one. I got the feeling of my brother's GSL 1100 Suzuki Motorcycle (sorta) from driving a car! The dealer tried to sell me a red but I waited for a silver.

1st test drive left me relatively unimpressed vs. my Supra TT - it didn't help that my salesman didn't want to vacate the driver's seat, and I had to remind him that I wanted to drive, not ride in, it. It was fun, but felt underpowered. I felt like I might have missed out on something, so I test drove it again and warmed up to it a bit more (but still had reservations about trading)...this time, I had an older, conservative saleslady riding w/ me, and she didn't want me to lower the top b/c it would mess up her hair! IMO, you really have to own this car and learn how to drive it hard before you can fully experience how much fun it is.

When I first wanted the Honda S2k...I wasn't going to pay $40,000 for it. So I waited...for a year. While I was waiting I found a used one on a lot. Test drove it for a long time, about 1.5 to 2 hours. WAS HOOKED! But didn't buy that one it was still $38,000 and had 7000 miles on it.
Then June 5, 2001...wanted to see what was around found a Yellow one, with only 12 miles on it...the dealership wouldn't let my test drive until the deal was almost complete. And took My NEW S2000 for its first test drive and drove it home the next day!
When I went to go and pick it up, three other people wanted to test drive it with the SOLD sign in the window!

My friend came over my house one night and totally shocked me with the S2000. Anyways, that night, I went out to drive the car and fell in love. Was thinking about S4 but bought the S2000 the following week. Now, I'm a one happy guy....
