At the time, most of the dealers around here wouldn't let you test drive the car. My first drive was after I signed all the paperwork and drove off the lot. It drove exactly as I imagined after reading every story and article I could on the car. I haven't had a single regret.

it took some doing to locate a dealer who was willing to let me take a test drive. when i got to the dealership the car was out on another test drive and I was next to drive it when it got back. that was fine, but the guy who had it out then decided to buy it then and there, so I was SOL. a few weeks later, the salesman called back, this time with a black/black that I could take out for a test. thankfully, he just gave me the keys and said to enjoy and bring it back when I was finished. 12 miles later of back roads and highways I knew that the s2k was exactly what I was loking for. any fears that I had, from writers griping about the lack of torque at low rpm's, was gone. but based on their writings, I definitely would not have been comfortable putting down my $$$ without a test drive.

I bought mine somewhat blind. A friend I met here (roceye) gave me a ride in his S2K a couple weeks before I signed the final papers. The car was already ordered (with a $500 refundable deposit) and they offered to let me test drive my car when it arrived but I declined. I had been following this car for so long (a good 2 years before it ever hit production) I knew I had to have it!

I did test drive it before purchasing, but my mind was already made up long before that.

Thats why I bought it! Because of the test drive. I didnt plan on buying it or getting one at all. I just wanted to look, and when he offered a test drive, I figured, what the hell, lets go for a joy ride. 2 days later I bougt it.

I was living in a cave until the test drive.

Stopped by the Honda dealer across the street from work because I saw this black/red convertible in the show room. Sales guy tells me he has one that we can test drive. Took it out for a spin, sales guy lets me floor it and we are doing 100MPH by the time I get to 4th gear.

Hooked ever since! Bought the Silverstone/Red the next day.
