Did you test drive an S2000 before buying one?
The post from Brushman about having trouble getting a dealer to allow a test drive has made me curious.
Personally I didn't drive one before I bought mine. I knew from reading about the car here that I would love it. I did however sit in one several times to insure I was a good fit!

Test drive wasn't even a question...Test drives not available. One look at the car says it all. My opinion if you want comfort buy a Caddy/Lincoln/Mersedes etc... As far as performance/handling etc... all the car mags had enough articles to convince me of the car's capabilities. My first test drive was the ride home

I knew what I wanted since 2000. The night I bought mine it was raining, and I did not even want to take it until the next day.
I drove it off of the show room floor with 3 miles on the odo.

I didnt have a problem getting a test drive at all...car was there, I asked to drive it, they said no problem, rolled it out the showroom doors, told me to have fun. Laid back attitude paid off, purchased the car yesterday for about 1200 under sticker.

I test drove 2 other them before I bought. The first was the dealer GM's car. This was a nice ride, SPA MY01, HKS Exhaust and custom wheels. The other one was at another dealer, but this time it was stock My02 Black/Black with 36 miles on it. I treated it nice. No Vtec, but the Spa was broken in so I let her rip

Sat in it. Drove it back and forth on the dealers lot, but no, I didn't get a real test drive.

i was the first on the waiting list back in 1999 at my dealer and so when the first cars came in, I got to take a 1/2 hour test drive with the General Manager in a black. Sweetest test drive I had ever taken! Did not end up buying the car I ordered b/c of cost, but I had a deposit on one since 1998 so i knew that i was getting one already.

I drove two used ones so I could drive 'em hard. The first time, the dealer handed me the keys and told me to have a nice time. That drive sold me.
The second time, the dealer came along an annoyed me the whole time. But every time he started yapping, I slammed it down a gear and floored it to shut him up. Pretty effective.
Buying a car without test driving is like marrying a girl without, well, you know....

I made an agreement with my dealer to order the first "upcoming Honda sports car" as it was called then, on the Friday after Thanksgiving 1997. I purchased the car on 9/18/99. I neither saw or drove it before writing the check. There were over 40 people on the dealers list at the time who would have been glad to take it home.
