Did I get ripped off?

Hey-
Yeah, that seems kinda steep. Just bought a 2000 w/ only 44,000 on it, certified, for $18,500. They had an 02 with 29,000 + HARDTOP for around $24,000. The dealer is Proctor Honda in Tallahassee FL. They had 4-5 on the lot when I left with mine. Mine was on the lot for almost 5 months, though. These cars are real niche cars and do not sell that much. You shoulda held out a few more days, and it probably woulda fallen to around 20-22K.

Don't worry so much - not many here will admit to paying more so take that into account. As others have said - if you enjoy it and can afford it why beat yourself up. A good lesson would be - who cares what you paid if you are happy with it.

as far as the "registered lease" goes on the carfax, that is more evidence that you coulda talked them down more. It doesn't mean that the car is any better or worse, it just means that the car was turned in after the lease ran up. You coulda gotten a MUCH better deal on a lease turn in, because the dealership has been getting payments on this car for probably the past 36 months. Lease prices are cheaper than actual pruchase payments, but not by that much. The leasee of this car probably paid the dealer 20,000 over the 3 years, then had to GIVE the car back, so the dealer could re-sell it. Then you purchased it for $24,000.....effectively giving the dealer $44,000 for the car. Mine was also a lease turn in. I requested paperwork on the car, and requested payment information (I told them I wanted to make sure that it wasnt a repossession picked up at auction). They provided me with the frequency and amounts of the lease payments. The guy/girl who had my car paid $325 / month over 48 months, for around $15,000 to the dealer. I then told the dealer I was not going to effectively give them more than the car's original sticker value (apparently $33,000). I got it for around $18,000. I paid $18,500 AFTER tax, tag, and title. If you show the dealer that you know what you are talking about, most crumble.

Ok, so yesterday I bought a 2002 Sebring Silver S2K with 42k miles from Honda for $25k, they were asking $26.9. It's Honda certified and has a 12,000 mile bumper to bumper, and 100k drivetrain warrenty. Once I got them to 25k, they wouldn't budge.
The flip side is, I traded in my 99 Turbo Prelude, which had $25k worth of mods. They gave me $13,500 on my car, which is about $2500 more than any other dealer would give me, and about 3500 over blue book. I couldn't sell the Lude privetly because I can't find anyone to finance it (only guys 20 and younger want it).
I'm very happy with the S2K, but now I'm reading all these posts about how 40k is too high of mileage, people getting 03s with 10K for $24k, ect. I just want to get your opinons. I'm just a compulsive buyer and I didn't look into it enough. Thoughts?

You usually get buyers remorse when you know you didn't do everything you could to get the best deal...ie research, removal of mods, background check, etc. etc.
Enjoy what you have because you've already made the decision, but next time do your homework so you don't have to ask.
